Handmade Hardwood Cutting Board
Our cutting boards are made of select Maple, Cherry, and Walnut. They are a meaty 2 inches thick and measure 11 x 17 inches. They are “end grain up” cutting boards which denote a high-quality board that will last generations and be gentle on your knife blades.
We cut a generous juice groove on the board to keep drippings off your countertop.
Food grade soft rubber feet on the bottom of the board keep it from dancing around your countertop when your cutting.
The Build
The hardwood boards are milled to size, and then laminated together with food safe commercial adhesives.
We built this specialty jig to cut the juice groove into the board.
Then the corners are cut round on the band saw.
The corners are then sanded on the oscillating sander.
Then we use the table saw to cut a 50 degree bevel out from all the way around the bottom of the board in order to give you a handle and make it easier to move around.
Then it gets sanded down to 400 grit and finished with a series of food grade sealers and wax.
